Instead of painting the roof, David is running across Canada.
An amateur runner took on the "Beyond Borders" challenge to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders.
[Squamish, British Columbia], [August 14, 2023] - David Kaplan, a determined amateur runner from the Czech Republic, is embarking on an extraordinary journey to push his limits and contribute to change. He has set himself an ambitious goal - to run 9 marathons in 9 days and cover a total distance of 382 kilometers on Vancouver Island in Canada, from the city of Nanaimo to Tofino. This remarkable journey, aptly named "Beyond the Limits," will take place from August 16 to 24. David is also dedicating these days outside of running to supporting a noble cause.
David Kaplan is no stranger to pushing boundaries, having already completed several ultramarathons. This time, however, he is venturing into new territory with the goal of completing a series of marathons and extending his run over several days. What makes this feat even more inspiring is his motivation to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, which has been providing basic medical and humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations for more than 50 years.
David Kaplan is no stranger to pushing boundaries, having completed several ultramarathons. This time, however, he is venturing into new territory, aiming to complete marathons back-to-back and extend his run over several days. All the more inspiring is his motivation to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, which has been providing basic medical and humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations for more than 50 years.
Doctors Without Borders operates impartially, independently, and neutrally, ensuring that their aid reaches those who need it most. Doctors Without Borders focuses on helping the most vulnerable communities and offers essential assistance. For example, a donation of CZK 300 can provide food for a child for a month, CZK 500 can provide drinking water for 20 families for a month, and CZK 1,000 can provide treatment and medication for 700 displaced persons per week.
If you want to support this important cause, anyone can adopt one of the kilometers that David will run for just CZK 240. Every step he takes during the "Beyond the Limits" challenge will translate into real help for those in need. The goal is to raise a total of CZK 91,680, with each kilometer representing CZK 240. The collection is taking place on the Czech platform Darujme CZ at https://www.darujme.cz/2407811.
During his journey, David will share his experiences and progress on social media. You can follow his journey live on his Instagram or Facebook, where he will document each episode of the "Beyond Borders" challenge. By sharing his journey, David wants to inspire and engage a wider audience, spread awareness about this issue, and encourage greater support.
All of David's efforts are supported by his wife Marcela and close friends, who contribute both emotionally and logistically to his journey.
David Kaplan shares his expectations: "I'm looking forward to taking my first steps on the coast of Nanaimo, focusing only on running, on my body and mind. On taking one step at a time. I'm looking forward to this simple life, where the most important thing is the next step."
